Our vision statement:
The Wyomissing Church of the Brethren
will be a loving, accepting  community of believers.
Together we will encourage and support each other both to grow
spiritually through Jesus' teachings and to actively,
personally serve the community, both locally and beyond,
so that God's love is shared through us.

In our fast paced world it's hard to connect with people.

It's hard to help your kids--and yourself--

understand the important things in life.

Values, relationships, and spiritual quests

are things that many don't make time for any more.

At Wyomissing Church of the Brethren we believe

that all of us are on a journey of spiritual discovery.

We offer support for your spiritual renewal through

worship, education, service and fellowship activities.

We don't push. We don't force. We respect

the spiritual path of each member.

We are a loving community of diverse believers

and diverse beliefs. We'd love to have you join us

for activities or worship at any time.

Our building has no steps and is ADA compliant.

Join us in the journey of life as we continue the work of faith...

advancing God's love in our world...peacefully, simply, together.

Adult Choir: Thursday Evenings from 7-8:30 Sanctuary

A traditional four-part choir that sings weekly during worship service from mid-September to mid-June. This is a fun group that enjoys singing and fellowship. You don’t need to know how to read music either! Open to anyone from junior high and older who love to sing! Directed by Brenda bechtel, Accompanied by Margaret Bauer

Notes of Faith: This is an open group of musical souls both vocalists and instrumentalists. The music is more modern and is shared with the congregation once a month. Rehearsals are scheduled to meet the needs of whatever members are performing at the time. This is a less traditional group than the regular choir, but just as fun. It’s a wonderful way to share your musical gift when your schedule permits it. Welcoming to musicians of any age.Contact Brenda Bechtel

Christian Education is vital to the young and old. We never stop growing in our faith. Our adult Christian Education classes run the gambit from parenting to discussion to life improvement.

Sunday School for toddlers through 6th grade is offered during our worship time, 10:15-11:15.

The Stewardship Team has a two-fold function, the building and the finances of the church. Building maintenance of the church property includes mowing, weeding and workdays to do the occasional upkeep. Finances include counters (weekly) and people to plan stewardship education classes and the annual giving campaign.

The Witness Team gives us opportunities to practice our faith outside of our immediate church. A group of volunteers travels to New Windsor, MD to work at a Brethren Distribution Center. The work done here benefits both our country and the world. Most work can be done while seated. Please check the calendarfor the next work date.

A few times a year we participate in Family Promise, a local program that takes in up to three homeless families for up to three months. While under Family Promise care, families receive job training and employment search help, parenting classes and more so they can get back on their feet and be living in their own home in three months or less. Wyomissing COB joins other Berks County houses of worship and provides meals and a place for families to sleep for a week at a time. Evening hosts, dinner providers, overnight chaperones, breakfast helpers, folks to wash laundry, food and snacks are all needed.

We also offer our church building as a place for community groups to meet. Please check the community calendar for more details.

Opportunities to serve include:

Pot Pie Dinner

Cookie Sale

Rummage Sale

Spaghetti Dinner

Fellowship is very important to Wyomissing COB. We like to have fun! We have pot lucks, hay rides, Easter Egg Hunts, Movie Nights, Game Nights & more!

Crafts, quilts and more!

Our quilters work on quilts like these to be auctioned off at the Disaster Relief Auction.Crafts: Every Tuesday morning at nine, our quilters gather to work on a quilt to donate to the September Disaster relief auction. Their efforts have raised over thirty thousand dollars for disaster relief.

Not into quilting? Come Tuesday mornings at nine to make various crafts for the Wyomissing Church’s spring auction. For more information contact Pat Gault or Margaret Hildebrand.

Book Club usually meets the third Sunday in a members home, with an occasional pot luck at church. We love to read, eat and talk. A different book is discussed each month, but this is primarily a group of women who like to be social. If you enjoy reading, some discussion and a good time, please join us. Contact or see Nancy Dotter.

Please check the calendar for upcoming Fellowship Events.

Yearly events

The Third Sunday in Thanksgiving we gather with family and friends to have our Thanksgiving Dinner. The church supplies the turkey and drinks, participants bring their favorite dish to share. It’s a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!

Usually on the fourth Sunday of December we hold a Christmas Tea. There are beautifully decorated tables, wonderful treats and a time to visit and enjoy Christmas with our Church friends.
